Steel Cone Batting Tee

About the Steel Cone Batting Tee

The Steel Cone Batting Tee is a heavy duty metal tee built for daily batting practice. The post is strong, durable steel, so it stands up to the hits a tee takes in a busy cage, and the tee is anchored by a heavy, stable base that weighs close to 10 pounds. It stays put when a hitter clips the cone, so there is less time spent resetting and more time hitting.

The height adjusts from 24 to 46 inches. That range covers young players working at the bottom of the zone and older hitters working on the high pitch, so one tee can serve a whole team.

Features

  • Strong, durable steel post
  • Heavy base that weighs close to 10 pounds for stability
  • Height adjusts from 24 to 46 inches
  • Rubber cone holds baseballs, softballs and training balls
  • Built for backyards, cages and team practice

Tee Drills Worth Doing Every Day

  • Location work: set the tee inside, middle and outside and move the tee forward or back in the box to match where contact should happen for each pitch.
  • High and low: raise and lower the cone to practice staying through the top of the zone and getting to the knee-high pitch.
  • Opposite field: set the tee deep and drive the ball the other way with the hands inside the ball.
  • One hand work: short top hand and bottom hand swings to clean up the path before full swings.
  • Pause drill: load, hold for a count, then swing to build balance and a stable base.

Why a Heavy Base Matters

A light tee tips over when a hitter clips the cone or the post, and every tip is a stop in the round. The heavy base on this tee keeps it upright through a full bucket of balls, which keeps hitters in rhythm. It also stands steady on turf, rubber mats and the ground in a cage.

Pairs Well With

Use the Power Ball Foam Hitting Trainer or TruFlight AceBallz foam training baseballs for close-range indoor tee work, add the Catch Bat Hitting and Bunting Trainer for bunting and contact drills, and set a Pitch Location Mat under the tee to mark foot position for each pitch location. For a durable polyurethane option, see the Poly Cone Batting Tee.
