ProNine Overload Training Bat - Bamboo

The ProNine Overload training bat is the heavy half of speed training: a durable bamboo overload bat that trains strength through the swing, with increased bat speed and more efficient swing mechanics as the primary benefit. Sold individually.

How Overload Training Works

Swinging heavier than game weight recruits more muscle through the exact movement of the swing. The body adapts to the added load; return to a game bat and the same effort moves the barrel faster. Programs pair overload work with underload swings to train both force and speed sides of the equation.

The Pair, Not the Piece

ProNine builds this bat alongside the Underload bat (33 inch, 27 oz): heavy rounds for strength, light rounds for speed. Run them in alternating sets and finish with the game bat so the nervous system cashes the training in.

Where It Fits

The Ideal Path trainer loads weight above the hands for path-specific strength; the sand ball line covers weighted work for the hitting hands. Every trainer lives in the training bats collection.

Like all ProNine training bats, it is built for tee work and soft toss: ProNine does not recommend training bats for live pitching, and that honesty is why they last.

How heavy should overload training be?

Heavy enough to feel the load, light enough to keep the swing intact - if mechanics collapse, the bat is doing the swinging. Sensible set-and-rep counts in tee and soft toss work are the rule.

Overload or underload first?

Common practice alternates them in the same session: overload rounds, underload rounds, then the game bat. The contrast is what trains speed.
