About the Premium 5x7 L Screen with Head Protector

Tired of getting hit in the head during in cage batting practice? The Premium 5x7 L Screen with Head Protector solves that problem with an overhead head protector that keeps balls from going over the screen and hitting the feeder in the head. It is the perfect batting cage screen. The frame is made with 1.5 inch steel tubing and a compression bolting system, so it is rigid and strong. It also includes thick one piece 1.5 inch padding with a vinyl wrap on the frame.

The cutout allows maximum throwing space for coaches. It includes a #60 net that slips on pillowcase style to provide double protection, and additional gussets on the legs make this one of the strongest frames available.

Why a Head Protector

In a batting cage the feeder stands close to the hitter, and balls hit back up the middle come back fast. A standard L screen protects the body, but a ball over the top rail can still reach the feeder's head. The overhead head protector closes that gap so coaches can throw round after round with confidence.

Wheel Kits

Wheel kits are sold separately. The Pro 1.5" Field Screen Wheels use airless tires that never go flat with steel plates over the hub, and the Varsity 1.5" Field Screen Wheels are the standard option. Both fit 1.5 inch tube screens.

Ordering Tips

Plan for how the screen will be moved. Add a wheel kit if the screen goes on and off the field often, and consider a spare net for busy programs so a torn net never takes the screen out of service.

Keep It in Service

Close small holes in the net with the Batting Cage and Screen Net Repair Kit and replace the net when it sags or tears along the frame. Store the screen out of standing water in the off season.
