About the Markwort Soft Softballs Yellow - Dozen

Markwort Soft Softballs are lightweight safety softballs with a synthetic cover and a felt center, sold by the dozen in yellow. They give beginners, youth softball programs and PE classes a ball that is softer and lighter than a regulation softball, in 10, 11 and 12 inch sizes.

Choosing a Size of Markwort Soft Softball

Each size is lighter than the one above it, so match the ball to the players and to the size your program normally plays with.

  • 10 inch: about 3.5 oz, acrylic felt center
  • 11 inch: about 4.5 oz, felt center
  • 12 inch: about 5.5 oz, felt center

When players are ready for a regulation leather ball, the Markwort MLT10-Y 10 inch leather softball is the next step at the 10 inch size. For other low-impact options see our reduced injury baseballs and softballs.
