The Markwort Gridiron Youth Football Shoulder Pads in Extra Small are tackle football shoulder pads built for the youngest players in youth football: roughly 45 to 60 pounds, with a 24 to 26 inch chest. A high-impact plastic shell sits over layered foam padding, and a weatherproof nylon taffeta cover keeps sweat and rain from soaking into the pads. For a first-year player, a league equipment manager or a parent filling out a gear list, they are a simple, sturdy starting set.

Padding Where Young Players Take Contact

The pads use 40 mm thick padding over the areas most prone to injury and 25 mm padding across the front, back and shoulder caps. Underneath, a combination of open cell and closed cell foam covers the contact areas. The high-impact plastic shell forms the outer layer over that padding.

Easy to Clean and Adjust

The body arch and shoulder caps attach with hook and loop, so they come off for cleaning and drying between practices. The nylon taffeta cover repels moisture and sweat. The front closes with the Grid-Lock lacing system, the pads use single strap hook-ups, and pre-drilled holes let a team attach accessories.
