The Markwort 4-Sided Adult Pitching Rubber is an official 6 inch by 24 inch pitcher's box for baseball mounds at the high school level and above. It is built around an aluminum tube and has four usable faces, so when the front edge wears down, the box turns to put a fresh one on top instead of being dug out and replaced.

Why a 4-Sided Pitching Rubber Lasts Longer

A pitching rubber wears from one spot: the front edge where the drive foot pushes off. On a single-surface rubber, once that edge rounds off, the only fix is digging out the installation and setting a new one. A four-sided box gives you three more edges before that day comes. Rotate it to the next face and the mound has a sharp, square edge again, which in practice makes it four rubbers in one. It costs more up front than a basic spiked rubber and less over the life of the mound.

Setting the Rubber

The box sets into the mound clay so the top face sits level and flush with the mound surface. Measure the pitching distance to the front edge of the rubber, not the center: 60 feet 6 inches from the back point of home plate for high school baseball and above. Clay packed tight around and under the box does more for its life than anything else.
