About the Batting Cage Ground Stakes
Batting Cage Ground Stakes keep an outdoor batting cage standing in wind and rain. Drive each stake into the ground beside the frame, then tie the included rope from the stake to the top of the cage frame. The rope pulls the frame down and out, so a gust that catches the net does not tip or walk the cage across the yard.
The stakes are sold in pairs. Choose 2, 4, 6 or 8 stakes based on the length of your cage and how much wind it sees.
How Many Stakes You Need
- Cages 50 feet long or shorter: at least 4 stakes
- Cages longer than 50 feet: at least 6 stakes
- Open, windy sites: add a pair to the ends of the cage
Spread the stakes evenly down both sides of the cage so the frame is pulled the same amount on each side.
What Is Included
- Heavy duty metal ground stakes, in the quantity you choose
- Rope to tie each stake to the top of the frame
Setting the Stakes
- Drive each stake at an angle, leaning away from the cage, a few feet out from the frame.
- Tie the rope to the stake, run it up to the top rail or corner of the frame and pull it snug.
- Check that the frame is still square and plumb after the ropes are tight.
- Recheck the ropes after storms and at the start of each season.
Call before you dig to have buried utility lines marked, and keep stakes clear of sprinkler lines.
Works With
The stakes work with any free standing outdoor batting cage frame, including the Complete Batting Cage with #36 Net and Steel Frame and the Batting Cage Net and Frame Kit in every size.
Finishing the Cage
Add a Batting Cage Door for easy entry, a 4x6 Canvas Batting Cage Backdrop behind the hitter, and a Batting Cage Divider Net 14x12 to run two stations in one cage.
