About the Gamemaster Baseball5 Complete Game Set
The Baseball5 Complete Game Set has what a group needs to play Baseball5, the five-on-five street version of baseball governed by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC). Inside the box are two rubber Baseball5 game balls, four throw-down bases (three bases and a home plate), a no hit zone marker and ground stakes to keep the bases in place. Baseball5 uses no bats and no gloves, so this one set turns a gym, playground, parking lot or patch of grass into a baseball field.
How Baseball5 Is Played
Each team puts five players on the field. There is no pitcher: the batter puts the ball in play by striking it with an open hand or fist, and the first bounce has to land in fair territory beyond the no hit zone, 3 meters from home plate. That is what the zone marker in this set is for. Games run five innings, the bases on a regulation field sit 13 meters apart inside a 21 meter square, and teams can be single-gender or mixed. The game is quick to learn and needs little equipment, which makes it a natural fit for PE classes, recreation programs and youth baseball camps.
