About the 6x4 Safety Screen Replacement Padding

The 6x4 Safety Screen Replacement Padding is a replacement frame pad for the Pro and Premium 6x4 safety screens. Padding only. Frame, net and wheels not included. The one piece design gives a form fit over the frame, and the double vinyl coated foam padding delivers excellent durability and protection. It is UV treated for long lasting use and protection against harsh weather.

Frame padding takes the hits a screen net cannot: balls off the top rail, balls off the uprights and the knocks a screen takes being moved on and off the field. Once the vinyl is torn or the foam is crushed, the steel underneath is exposed. A new pad restores the protection for the person behind the screen and keeps the frame from getting dinged and rusting.

When to Replace Screen Padding

  • Torn or split vinyl that exposes the foam
  • Foam that is crushed flat and no longer cushions
  • Faded, brittle vinyl after seasons in the sun
  • Loose padding that slides or gaps on the frame

Installing the Padding

  • Remove the net and the old padding, noting how each piece attaches.
  • Fit the one piece pad over the frame, starting at the top rail and working down each side.
  • Make sure the pad sits snug with no gaps at the corners.
  • Reinstall the net so it sits tight over the padded frame.

Ordering Tips

Confirm the screen model and size before ordering. Screens of the same size can use different frame shapes, so match the pad to the screen named above. Programs with several screens of the same model often replace all the pads at once so every screen offers the same protection.

Keep the Screen in Service

While the screen is apart, check the net. Small holes can be closed with the Batting Cage and Screen Net Repair Kit, and a worn net can be replaced with a matching replacement net. Store padded screens out of standing water and direct sun in the off season.
