ProNine Weighted Sand Ball - 2 lbs
The ProNine weighted sand ball at 2 lbs is the first of the heavy throwing balls. A durable rubber shell wraps a special sand material filling, built for throwing programs that develop arm strength: used for front and side toss, long lasting, safe in normal training use, and it will not dent bats. Each ball comes individually packed. Sold individually.
Why Sand Instead of Solid Weight
Sand filling gives the ball a dead, thud-like response instead of a bounce, which is exactly what weighted training wants: the energy goes into the athlete, not into chasing the ball. Develops strength and extension as the entry weight of the heavy progression. Because it will not dent bats, hitters can run weighted contact drills with the bats they actually swing.
Part of a Progression
ProNine builds the sand line in six weights from 5.25 oz to 5 lbs, so athletes move up in honest steps instead of jumps. The the 4 lbs ball and the 5 lbs ball are the neighboring weights, and the sand ball throwing set boxes this ball's whole progression at a set price.
Where It Fits
For leather weighted balls by the dozen, the WTB9-10 weighted training baseballs cover team throwing programs. The full weighted wall lives in the weighted baseballs collection.

How do you train with a sand ball?
Front and side toss are the core uses: the hitter drives the weighted ball through the zone, building strength and extension. Heavier balls shift the work toward throwing-program arm strength.
Which weight should I start with?
Start light and earn the next step. Hitters typically begin at 5.25 oz or 12 oz; throwing programs start at 2 lbs. When the current ball feels easy through a full session, move up one weight.
